Student reviews
The first lesson is the hard part. Staying is easy.

“I've been taking lessons with Erik for around 10 years, yet his knowledge of the instrument still never ceases to amaze me! In addition to his clear passion for music and his technical ability, he is a patient teacher, capable of teaching students at every level. I know because he taught me most of what I know, from early beginner to advanced stages.
His teaching style is perfect for any guitarist who wishes to not only improve their playing, but also to improve their ear and their theoretical knowledge. His training has helped me in all of these areas, and made me a far better improviser as well. I couldn't recommend Erik enough!”
Starting guitar in my 40s with no musical background was intimidating, but Eric has made it really enjoyable. He's patient, encouraging, and never makes me feel behind or silly for asking questions. He explains things clearly, and keeps lessons fun while still pushing me to improve. If you've ever thought about learning guitar—I can't recommend Eric enough. He's a great teacher who genuinely wants his students to succeed.
My daughter has been taking lessons with Erik for about a year and a half. She enjoys Erik's teaching and looks forward to lessons each week. As a parent, I appreciate how Erik gives understandable and constructive feedback to my daughter. Erik is easy going and gets along great with her - not too formal. He also takes them through learning at a deliberate pace, ensuring they “get it” and not rushing through things.
I'd highly recommend Erik for any student ability or age!
I have had a few guitar teachers in the past, though Erik's approach to lessons makes the most sense to me out of all of them. I appreciate his approach to the learning style of teaching through songs so that l am still able to have fun practicing a new song but learning important techniques and chords along the way. Erik is also extremely patient and understanding. He communicates his teaching in a variety of different ways so that if you don't understand the first (or second or third in my case) time that he explains something, he will find another way to explain it.
All in all, he is a wonderful teacher and I truly believe I chose the best one in Omaha.
Eric is patient, flexible, and willing to work with you on anything/song you want to learn. I've been taking lessons from him for years and have grown tremendously.
Erik is an excellent guitar teacher. I've been taking lessons for several years and have really appreciated how encouraging he is and how he keeps me progressing.
I've been taking lessons for a few months now and Erik has been an amazing teacher. He listened to my goals and came up with a plan to help me achieve them. I've continued to improve and have learned a ton in just a few months. Would highly recommend him!
I've been taking guitar lessons from Erik for 3 years. I took it up in my 60's. I play an acoustic guitar and he has been awesome. I didn't think I could learn an instrument but I really wanted to play the guitar.
Great guitar teacher for beginners, even when you have decided to start playing guitar later in life. He is able to gauge where you are individually in your progress, cater to reinforce techniques while challenging you to new things. Holds the tension between being patient and still nudging to do better very well.
Erik is a dedicated instructor who really takes the time to make sure you're learning what you need to know and having fun playing the music you want to learn and emulate. I'd recommend him in a heart beat!
Great guitar teacher!
Very thorough, Erik has a plan.
Erik is definitely the best guitar teacher I have ever had.
Great guy and knows how to teach guitar even if you've never played. Great patience and understanding of all aspects of teaching and learning the guitar
Been seeing erik for lessons for many years! Great teacher with a lot of experience and knowledge!
I've been with Eric for over a year and now I started as a complete beginner he has taught me incredible skills are still being fun and not being boring.
Great instructor. Extremely knowledgeable.
I've been taking lessons with Erik for about a month, and it's been great! He explains things clearly and makes learning fun. I've already improved my playing so much! Erik is passionate, talented, and has a very cool studio! I'd highly recommend him to any other young woman wanting to learn guitar!
I really was not sure about taking lessons on-line. I am an older student and worried about being able to learn from someone who was not in the room with me.
Erik has been wonderful! He is patient, positive and no matter how badly I mess up, he remains encouraging. He gives great tips for getting through challenges and sets obtainable practice goals.
Originally I planned to engage in lessons for the summer (I started in July), but have enjoyed lessons so much that I will continue as long as my schedule will allow. I just shared with Erik that my job is pretty stressful, but my practice time and my time with him during lessons have become my “happy” place.
I highly recommend him as a teacher.
I've had a couple different instructors whom were amazing players but Erik is not just one of the best guitar players I've witnessed in person, he is also other worldly in his ability to prompt you as a student into a learning experience. For years I've been mulling about trying to get out of the intermediate hump as a player. My confidence was down and I just felt sort of lost. After a single lesson and guidance on what to study, I found that I was already beginning to play in entirely new ways. I just needed that small push. It's been amazing so far and I'm exceedingly happy I found an instructor with that x factor. His teaching skills are supreme.
This was a shot in the dark for me. I just knew I wanted to learn guitar finally, so I scrolled and chose a guitar instructor. Fast forward, I couldn't be happier working with Erik. His lessons are practical and within a couple of lessons, I was learning actual songs, not just chords. The best part is that my lessons are online. Enjoying the process of learning and practicing guitar from my living room. Excited to see where my lessons take me.

Brand new or stuck on a plateau — text Erik, tell him what you want to play, and he'll take it from there.
