Teaching guitar isn't Erik's side gig. It's his profession.
A lifelong guitarist and a 1991 graduate of Musicians Institute, Erik studied under guitar virtuosos Nick Nolan, Steve Trovato, Norman Brown, and Jennifer Batten — guitarist for Michael Jackson and Jeff Beck.
With 38+ years of professional teaching experience, Erik isn’t squeezing lessons between band gigs — teaching is what he does, full-time. That means consistent scheduling, real lesson plans, and a teacher whose full attention is on you. He teaches most styles from beginner to advanced, specializing in folk, rock, and blues rock, plus ear training, sight reading, harmony, and music theory.
“Easily the coolest guitar studio in Omaha.”
Erik said it, and the photos back him up: burnt-orange walls, a wall of guitars in walnut frames, an atomic clock, and a real 70s lounge. Lessons should happen somewhere that makes you want to play.

From students
Students stay for years.
From kids who started in elementary school and continued through college to adult beginners who started from scratch in their 70s and 80s, Erik has taught guitarists of all ages and experience levels.
Great guitar teacher for beginners, even when you have decided to start playing guitar later in life.
I'd recommend him in a heart beat!
Erik is definitely the best guitar teacher I have ever had.
